These pictures tell the story. Maitland City Council north-west of Newcastle, NSW recently replaced a timber boardwalk that had become unsafe due to rotting timbers. The boardwalk crosses wetland at Ruthluba Lagoon, and is 42 m long and 1.4 m wide.
Evaluating its options, the council selected Enduroplank™ for its durability as well as its environmental and sustainability features. The new boardwalk includes a kick rail made of 90 mm x 65 mm profile. All told, the recycled plastic boardwalk saved over 420,000 plastic bags from going to landfill.
