At Lake Wallace in Edenhope, Victoria, West Wimmera Shire Council has installed recycled plastic signage, bollards and trackmarkers along the shore and car parks. The plank sign explains the perimeter track around Lake Wallace, the track length, fishing jetty and overflow. Recycled plastic signage from Replas is supported by sturdy 125 mm square bollards, the text is routed into the plank and painted – perfect to identify parks, schools or sporting grounds. The trackmarkers show the track length and the 125 mm bollards deter vehicles and give a barrier between the car parks and pedestrian walk ways. West Wimmera Shire Council have also added reflectors onto the bollards, a modification that can be added to any and all recycled plastic bollards. These installations around Lake Wallace is a great example of what councils can do to create a Circular Economy and save soft plastics from landfill.
