After deciding that their old and degraded wooden picnic tables needed replacing, Wallsend Public School saw the perfect chance to practice what they preach and install 6 new recycled plastic settings. They found purchasing Replas products a good opportunity to discuss with students about recycling and products that can be made from recycled material. “We are looking forward to the Replas tables and chairs lasting us a long time. Our General Assistant is also looking forward to the easy maintenance of the products and not having to paint the tables,” explains Jane Pankhurst, the Deputy Principal Instructional Leader. “Our new Replas products are more durable than our previous tables and they fit better into the space. They look more visually appealing and the colours are brighter, which lifts the appearance of our playground,” continued Jane. After an easy installation consisting of one person assembling the 6 tables in one day, Jane explained Students, Staff and the parent community love the settings, adding “we support and encourage our students to research and have knowledge about sustainability and the use of recycled products. Our new tables are fantastic,” concluded Jane. Wallsend Public School are an excellent showcase of an organisation working to close the recycling loop through consistency and education.
