At Thompson Creek Breamlea in Victoria, informal tracks created by people walking around a permanently inundated part of the main walking path resulted in the trampling of the surrounding saltmarsh.

Though simple in appearance, the new platform made from Enduromesh presented a number of challenges which included the placement and final design of the uprights so as not to damage existing sensitive vegetation. Designed jointly by Replas and the City of Greater Geelong the platform consists totally of recycled plastic with no concrete used for the foundations.

Installation was fast, but required some innovative thinking. Ralph Roob, Senior Environmental Engineer, City of Greater Geelong said, ‘Installation took two half days, by two people once we thought ‘outside the square’ and came up with the adopted solution.’
