“Tamworth Regional Council has previously dealt with Replas in the past 15 years, and has held a great reputation for all departments within the organisation,” explains Alex Farmer, Aquatic Duty Manager for Tamworth Regional Council. 10 new Kakadu seats and 5 new Premier Settings from Replas have been installed around the Aquatic Centre in Tamworth Regional Council, New South Wales. Along with the fifteen new furniture pieces, previously installed recycled plastic Lyrebird benches surround the kids pool area. “Many divisions, including the Aquatic division with Tamworth Regional Council, have purchased numerous different products from Replas. From benches to table settings to street bollards, in a vision to be a more sustainable and environmentally friendly region,” continued Alex. Old steel painted benches and wooden settings that had collapsed and corroded from the pool water were replaced with recycled plastic furniture. What surprised Alex about Replas products? “They’re sturdy and well balanced, and how weatherproof they are in an outdoor area with constant contact with pool chemicals.” Unlike alternative materials, recycled plastic does not rot, split or crack and will never need painting – “forever lasting, unlike our previous products,” said Alex. The response from the community has been incredibly positive, Alex explained pool goers reactions as “very heavy duty, strong furniture” “the new furniture makes it look like a new pool” and “lovely sea of blue themed pool.” A fantastic addition of recycled plastic products for Tamworth Regional Council, contributing to a Circular Economy and creating a demand for plastics that would otherwise end up in landfill.
