At the SunRice facility in Leeton, New South Wales, a new recycled plastic SunRice Beachcomber seat has been installed, dedicated to the Site Services Employee David “Leggy” Legge “who always took pride in this site.” Lynette Ryan, Head of Sustainability, said “we are really happy with the result and this small step towards Closing the Loop.” SunRice is part of the REDcycle program where consumers can take their soft plastic back to Coles and Woolworths to be turned into useful, fit for purpose products. The comfortable, recycled plastic Beachcomber from Replas has been modified with the SunRice logo and dedication plaque for all workers to enjoy. Like all recycled plastic product from Replas, this Beachcomber seat requires minimal maintenance and will not rot, split or crack and will never need painting. “[We are] looking forward to exploring more opportunities in the coming 12 months,” said Lynette. A fantastic way for companies in the Red Group program to create the demand for recycled plastic products made from their soft plastic material.
