Campbelltown City Council is only 30km’s south west of the Sydney CBD and yet is home to a stunning sandy oasis called Simmos Beach. Replas signage has been part of the furniture for many years but still looks like it was installed just yesterday. Walking tracks abound and suit bushwalkers at all levels and Simmos beach is so easy to find via Macquarie Fields and has convenient facilities including BBQ’s, sheltered picnic tables and rest rooms for all the family to enjoy. Who is Simmo you ask-a notorious sand miner along the Georges River in the 1950’s, although a likeable rogue Bob’s activities weren’t always of the legal variety.
