Recently, the Derwent Valley Council in Tasmania undertook some improvements at Tynwald Park, a large recreation park which has BBQ, sporting & play areas within its boundaries. As part of the upgrade, council wished to improve wheelchair access. The existing old treated pine post and log combination protruded, hindering entry. The solution was to use Replas 100 mm bollards which now allow for easy access of wheelchairs and prams, while also providing a necessary barrier to larger vehicles.
The new entrance sign to the park is also made from recycled plastic providing a striking first impression that will far outlast timber alternatives. Craig Fuller, Maintenance Supervisor at DVC, is extremely happy with the end result and has received many positive comments from locals and tourists.
