Most of our recycled plastic bollards are hollow. Turn them upside down and fill them with concrete, and you have a heavy-duty post that provides much more than a visual barrier. At Mission Beach Qld, the Cassowary Coast Regional Council did just that. Installing a row of 100 mm x 100 mm bollards at a local reserve, putting concrete in the cavity and spanning them with 400 mm x 40 mm recycled plastic planks, they created a low retaining wall that met their landscaping needs perfectly. And of course, it’ll never rot or get attacked by the local wood-eating critters.
