At Goodwood Oval in Adelaide, the City of Unley has installed this beautiful post and rail barrier around a large Morton Bay Fig tree. The tree is prone to dropping limbs, so for safety reasons the council needed to deter people from walking under it, but without fully blocking off the magnificent specimen.

The post and rail construction uses 125 x 125 mm recycled plastic bollards spanned by 3.6 m Woodshield rails. The Woodshield product is more rigid than standard recycled plastic, so able to span longer distances without sagging.

The council is very pleased with the installation, happy to demonstrate to ratepayers the benefits of recycling using Replas products in council projects. It’s all about effectively closing the loop from waste to functional, long-lasting resource.
