Steven Pottinger, Replas North Queensland Manager, met with Adrian Kenealy who has worked in the maintenance area at Townsville Council for over 35 years. Adrian says that the council is in the process of replacing wooden bollards with plastic ones as they have had issues with wood as when grass is cleared from the base. Wiper snipping and mower damage weakens the wood allowing rot and splinters to become a risk. However, plastic bollards handle this type of wear and tear without any issues, offering a long term maintenance-free solution.
