New South Wales’ Montague Island has recently been installed with a Replas ocean wharf, constructed from recycled plastic profiles. In a true test of Replas’ durability, the wharf has twice endured a beating from huge waves crashing over it, with no damage occurring.
The National Parks and Wildlife Service’s Senior Field Supervisor, Jack Babidge, commented that the Service frequently brings 12 metre vessels alongside the wharf.
‘We have been very impressed with the material and it turned out to be a very neat job. We’ve had plenty of compliments.’
