There’s some nice new Replas seating around the boundary at Corowa, NSW’s cricket oval. Under the guidance of parks manager Darren Harvey, who is enthusiastic about recycled plastic products, Federation Council installed the Kimberley seats and Premier Picnic Settings in time for the season. And the new recycled plastic furniture has bowled visitors over. It replaced some of the old faithful but now seriously dilapidated timber benches on which time had run out. Before too many more days’ play, a further purchase of 11 bench seats will complete the seating upgrade.
Federation Council administers a prosperous rural area on the NSW side of the majestic Murray River, centred on Corowa. The council is so-named because in 1893, Corowa was the site of a conference that paved the way to Australia’s federation in 1901.
