On the 10th of September, lululemon came to the Replas Environmental Centre to discuss future plans of purchasing back recycled plastic products from their waste. Back in 2013, lululemon purchased a Daintree Seat to showcase out the front of their Chapel Street store. Now, lululemon is looking to expand their sustainability and create a home for the soft plastic collected through Red Group and Replas by installing recycled plastic Re-Fit exercise equipment at their distribution centres for staff to use and enjoy. lululemon collects about 231 kgs of soft plastic waste in their stores each month through single use clothing packaging. The soft plastic is collected separately in store, making all the plastic clean and free of contamination. With all of this clean soft plastic, the team at lululemon is excited to take this next step in creating a demand for recycled plastic products and contribute to the Circular Economy.
