Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative is a government program which helps schools benefit from demonstrating sustainability. The program gives students an opportunity to understand sustainability in a practical way, promoting minimising waste, saving energy, water and much more.
AuSSI encourages schools to engage students in real-life learning, whilst improving schools resources and facilities. Pender’s Grove Primary School is committed to the initiative, aiming to promote an environmentally sustainable culture amongst students.
Pender’s Grove, located in Thornbury, recently installed several Replas Kimberley Seats and Premier Settings around the school’s grounds. Pender’s Grove is certainly demonstrating dedication and taking action in relation to the environmental state of the school. Students can now walk past and sit on the recycled-plastic seating, knowing that their school has saved a significant amount of waste from going to landfill.
