If you are passing through the town of Gatton in the Lockyer Valley, QLD and looking for a place to stop and revive, look no further than Lake Apex and Lake Freeman. Lake Apex Park has been established on natural wetlands that support a wide range of plant and animal life. Up to 153 species of bird have been identified within the wildlife sanctuary, where the islands and vegetated margins of the lakes provide a safe and secure breeding ground.

To help keep the park in pristine condition, the Lockyer Valley Regional Council has used 100mm square recycled plastic bollards to ensure vehicles remain in the designated areas of the parkland.
