“Last weekend for the 7th consecutive year in a row, the Team at Replas NZ ran a river and beach cleanup as part of the Keep New Zealand Beautiful week.
Replas NZ enlisted the help of the Rotary Hutt Valley members, & youth from the Belmont Cub, Scout and Venturer groups to work alongside our own staff to clean up an area of the Hutt River and foreshore alongside Port Road in Seaview. This year the cleanup of 2 km of river / coastline only took 1.5hrs due to the volume of volunteers we had turn out.
Not only did we collect the usual array of waste plastics, balls, shoes and clothing, we also retrieved car tyres, an Inner sprung mattress, and soft toys.
Following the cleanup Replas NZ provided refreshments for all volunteers while awaiting rubbish & recycling collection provided by Hutt City Council
A big thank you to the Team at Metal Art Ltd, Members of Rotary Hutt Valley & youth from Belmont Cubs, Scouts and Venturers.
Well done everyone, and a huge effort put in again by all those who participated.”
