Mudgee, NSW is one of many regional communities to have embraced recycled-plastic products. There the Mid-Western Regional Council has installed Replas plank signs to identify its parks and reserves, and 145mm square bollards with plaques that provide information and rules of park use.  Recycled plastic is the ideal material to use in the Country environment, as it will not split or rot, is impervious to insects and never needs painting.

Explorer William Lawson was the first European to see the Mudgee pasturelands in 1821. He took the title of discoverer from James Blackman, who although first to discover the Cudgegong region, missed the Wiradjuri settlement at Mudgee by just a few miles.
