There are three things that don’t belong on a tennis court anymore: skin-tight shorts, fluorescent headbands and wooden tennis racquets. Not since the 1980s has a grand slam been won with a wooden racquet and outdoor furniture is going the same way.
At the Scarborough Tennis Club, wooden seats have been replaced, much like tennis racquets, with a superior, lower-maintenance and more aesthetically appealing design. President of five years, John Butterworth is sitting on Replas’ Kimberley Seat which replaced the old timber one. The new seat looks fantastic and is made using environmentally friendly recycled-plastic materials.
The seats also come in a variety of different colours and have multiple installation options. The Scarborough Tennis Club is so impressed with the seats that they are looking into ordering several more.
