“We will continue to use Replas furniture into the future as it is an easy to use product that is stylish and hard wearing – something councils love,” said Allan Ralph, Leading Hand Operations at Moira Shire Council in Victoria. Moira Shire Council have recycled plastic products installed throughout the municipality including furniture, bollards and custom seating made with profiles. “We use Replas street furniture because it fits in with existing furniture we have, to keep a uniform look throughout our parks,” said Allan. “The picnic setting we used Replas profiles to replace rotted out timber boards for a neat, clean finish.” Unlike the timber alternative, recycled plastic products do not rot, split or crack and never need painting. The durability and low maintenance creates a perfect fit-for-purpose product for councils in parks and gardens. “So far, the Replas furniture we have used over the last 5 or so years has stood up very well to the use and abuse they get,” said Allan. With an easy installation and stylish finish, Allan explained it is a great way to use up recyclable materials, “The Lions Club of Tungamah and users of the park have been extremely complementary of the installations,” said Allan. By creating a demand for recycled plastic products, Moira Shire Council has become a true recycler in the Circular Economy.
