The City of Norwood, Payneham and St Peters, in South Australia, had three low level shared-use crossings along the Torrens River that were regularly underwater due to flash flooding and as a result the timber decking badly needed replacing.

The council needed a robust product that could weather the conditions and wouldn’t rot or be affected by the marine environment.

Enduroplankā„¢ decking was chosen and installed over existing steel beams by Replas Diamond Club member Punch. Replas also supplied new joists, bearers and capping for the bridges. As the bridges are regularly wet and are frequented by cyclists, the council chose to apply Replas Sand Coating which greatly increases the slip-resistance of the surface.

Neighbouring council the Town of Walkerville was so impressed with the finished structures that they are upgrading a nearby boardwalk with Enduroplankā„¢ to match with the new bridges.
