In the northern beaches region of Sydney, Warringah Council installed a series of grey 100 mm x 100 mm recycled plastic bollards on the cycle way alongside South Creek Reserve. Reflectors routed into the bollards give road traffic and cyclists much-improved visibility as they use the busy area. The installations comprised approximately 150 bollards, the material used to make them equivalent  to 341,250 plastic bags saved from landfill.

On 12 May 2016 it was announced that Warringah Council would merge with Pittwater and Manly councils to establish the Northern Beaches Council with immediate effect.
