The Balnarring Pre School & Sea Sheperd Community Clean Up event was held on Saturday, 22nd of June 2019. Karen Anderson, the Educational Leader at Balnarring Pre School, organised a collective community clean up of waste from the Balnarring township and beaches which will then be sorted and decontaminated by Sea Sherperd and forwarded to relevant manufacturers to become materials used in making new products. The soft plastic that was collected will be forwarded to Replas to be used in making recycled plastic products that the community of Balnarring will purchase back for the local statues and cultural statements that recognise traditional land owners as the first custodians of the land.

This event involved about 60 engaged stakeholders that worked through the rainy conditions to remove waste materials from the local communities, park lands and open spaces. Replas Victorian Territory Manager, Kelvin Agg, attended the event to share the insights of Replas and to talk about the processes and changes Replas is aspiring towards in the near future through key partnerships. Tag teamed alongside his youngest son, Austin.
