Replas has been a proud sponsor of the Queensland Rangers Association (QRA) for the past 12 years and would like to send out a ‘thank you’ to the QRA for having Replas at their annual Muster the 7th – 9th of August. This year marks the 30 year anniversary of the Wet Tropics being World Heritage Listed, so this year’s event was held on the doorstep of the Daintree Rain forest at Ellis Beach, Cairns with approx. 100 park rangers from all over QLD attending. Sales and Marketing Director Mark Jacobsen and two Queensland Sales Reps Steven Pottinger and Darren White attended the event and were fortunate to have an opportunity to educate the audience about the recent changes within the recycled plastic industry. Just a few of the key topics were the impacts of plastic pollution the environment and wildlife, China’s National Sword Program (Blue Sky 2018), plastic bag bans, the Circular Economy, and the procurement of recycled plastic products. This event also included a field trip to the nearby Mossman Gorge where Replas has an Enduroplank™ boardwalk that was installed almost 10 years ago. The rangers were impressed with the condition of the decking as it was still in great condition and has not been effected by the tough environment conditions that are generated in the Wet Tropics. The bollards, wheel stops and picnic settings located at the entrance to the gorge are further examples of the Circular Economy in action. Replas was also pleased to announce to the group that over the 12+ years, the QLD Parks and Wildlife Service has used over 400 tonnes of recycled plastic installations all across QLD!
What an incredible couple of days, Replas is looking forward to many more QRA Musters in the years to come!
