In the town of Melton west of Melbourne, the Friends of Melton Botanic Garden got behind a project to install two wheelchair-accessible Replas Premier picnic settings on site. One is in the Eucalyptus Arboretum area and the other near Ryan’s Creek Lake. The feature of these settings, besides the fact they are made of recycled plastic with all its benefits, is that the table legs are offset so that a wheel-chair-bound person can sit comfortably at one end.
With the work done by a Matchworks work experience activity team the settings went in without a hitch. Now everyone who visits the gardens has a nice place to picnic on a sunny day and enjoy the lovely surroundings.
