The Toowoomba Bicentennial Water Bird Habitat provides is a quiet place to relax, enjoy nature and stroll along the walkways. The 7.6 ha (19 acre) habitat in suburban Toowoomba is small as wetlands go, yet is a diverse sanctuary that attracts a variety of water birds.
Recycled plastic seats and picnic settings recently installed in strategic positions provide the perfect place to sit and watch the wildlife. There is also a viewing platform made from Enduroplank™ and composite fibre, which showed its durability when it came through the 2011 floods undamaged.
The parkland and habitat is a great place for chilling out, walking, cycling, having a picnic, and of course watching the birds.
