Why Replas bollards? Why not?

We asked Fraser Coast Regional Council in Queensland why they turned to recycled plastic bollards after the Mary River area flooded in 2013 and this is what they had to say:

‘Prior to the 2013 floods an array of different bollards were used within Petrie Park, comprising of timber, composite & recycled plastic. While the timber & composite bollards were either rotting or splitting apart after the waters receded the plastic was unaffected. All damaged bollards have now been replaced with recycled plastic. We now have a much more uniform look while effectively reducing maintenance.’  Bruce Brischke, Open Space & Environment Officer, Fraser Coast Regional Council.
