Replas bollards hop to it

Bundaberg Council, in Queensland, developed a unique vehicle barrier fence at Woodgate Beach. The area is home to hundreds of kangaroos that during the day and night wander through the town and parks.

Using 125 mm black bollards and white plastic wire, they have created a unique fence that prevents vehicle access into the parks and surrounding sensitive ecological areas while allowing easy access for the kangaroos.

Spend once to last a lifetime!

Sorell Council in Tasmania believe strongly in the ‘spend once’ principal. Initial expense is far outweighed by the savings made over the life cycle of a product. This is probably why they are continued supporters of Replas products.

A new recycled-plastic picket fence at the Sorell Cemetery not only looks great, but will provide a virtually maintenance free solution for more than forty years.

On the fence

The Department of Transport, Energy and Infrastructure (DPTI) in South Australia needed a long lasting, inexpensive fencing option for a bike path along the $291 m Seaford rail extension. They wanted an environmentally-friendly product as the brief was to be as sustainable as possible.

The solution? A Post and Rail fence from Replas. Installed by Bluedog Fences, Andy Holmes said the clients were very happy with the finished project and, ‘would definitely use the product again’.

Protect your boundary and the planet

Define your boundary with a creative and environmentally-friendly solution from Replas. Our range of bollards can be used in a variety of ways to custom design a fence that not only looks good, but is made from a material that would have otherwise have gone to landfill.

Tassie school sets the standard

Romaine Park Primary is a new Tasmanian school that has been designed to give pupils the opportunity to learn in a state-of-the-art education facility, using the most up-to-date building materials.

Artas, the architects for the project, specified the use of Replas recycled-plastic products due to their durability and sustainability. Recycled plastic was used to create a number of features around the school including wave shaped benches, garden edging and fencing.

In the kindergarten playground, Enduroplank™ decking was used to build a couple of large platforms which can be used for seating or as a stage area. It was also used to create a footbridge over the bike track and a platform at the top of the slides. As recycled plastic is safe and non-toxic it was ideal to use in this environment.

Principal Leanne Raw, said, ‘The grey colour blends in well with the natural environment. Their strength and durability will add to this play space’.

'Ongoing maintenance issues and durability were a factor in choice of building materials.’

A fun fundraiser!

The community ofHere is a chance to not only help the environment but also raise funds for your local school or community group – with playground fencing. Montrose had the clever idea to use recycled-plastic pickets as a fence for their new playground. The pickets were sold to families, individuals, and companies and were engraved with the purchaser’s desired text. The sale of the pickets raised thousands of dollars to put towards the project. After many working bees, the Replas products still require the least amount of maintenance compared with other products in the playground.

If you have a worthwhile community project that requires a boost, why not consider helping the environment while also raising funds. Call us on 1800 REPLAS to find out about our special deals to get your project started.

Recycled-plastic bollards—defining your environment, Saving ours

Recycled-plastic bollards are the affordable alternative to timber. They provide rigid, resistant barriers to define boundaries, or to deter vehicle or pedestrian access. They are also perfect where an economical and simple sign is needed.

The City of Charles Sturt, in South Australia, has embraced the use of recycled plastic bollards, installing 167 Signage Bollards over the last 2-3 years at all of their beach and river entrances. They have also used our 145mm square Bollards for fencing.

‘Council has chosen these bollards for their cost effective materials and because they are easy to maintain and clean. Charles Sturt is committed to providing its residents with affordable and attractive infrastructure.’

Dani Vukoje, Project Officer, City of Charles Sturt.

Traditional Look—Modern Solution

Kogarah City Council, NSW, wanted to replace an old picket fence at Merriman Reserve as the existing timber was deteriorating. They wanted the traditional look of a picket fence, but were frustrated by the high maintenance costs of timber.

Replas was able to match the style and colour of the old fence with recycled-plastic pickets which are very low maintenance and will never need painting. Damien Duggan, Parks Technical Officer at the council, said he found the installation process to be easy, adding that as a result of this experience, ‘Council would look at different products Replas produce to use in the future’.
