Salisbury Council in South Australia needed to upgrade a ramp at the Ingle Farm Football Club to ensure it was compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act. Replas supplied and installed a composite fibre sub-structure with Enduroplank decking laid over the existing ramp. As it wasn't necessary to demolish the old ramp, costs were kept to a minimum and the new structure will provide years of virtually maintenance free use.

The ramp was installed by Diamond Club member Punch Manufacturing who were also able to assist with design and certification of the installation.

A new ramp at Sandon Point Surf Life Saving Club, in Wollongong NSW, was constructed using recycled-plastic capping, Enduroplank™ decking and a composite fibre sub-structure. The ramp meets the Australian Standards for up to a two-tonne load rating and will be used for light vehicle traffic and small yacht trailers to access the beach along with other beach goers. 

Visit the popular Spellbound Caves in Waitomo, New Zealand, and travel along a path made from Replas recycled-plastic Enduroplank™ as it weaves it’s way past glowworm colonies, piercing stalactites and constantly flowing water. So far, more than 80 000 pairs of feet have trod the boards, which are inert and impervious to the moisture that has a constant presence in the underground limestone landscape. Long-lasting and low-maintenance, non-slip Enduroplank has proven to be the ideal product in subterranean conditions and looks just as good today as when it came off the truck nearly a decade ago.

As Tumut Shire Council had previously used Replas products and were happy with them they knew they were the answer to a worn out boardwalk along the Tumut River. Anthony Shaw, from the shire said, ‘Previously we had old tar covered boards that were unsightly and were near the end of their structural life. The Enduroplank product is much neater and visually appealing and will no doubt endure the test of time’.

C&K Magnetic Island Community Kindergarten wanted to have an area for the children to sit beneath a favourite tree. They needed a product that was non-toxic and non-splintering and they also wanted to raise awareness of recycling and sustainability among the children.

They called on Michael Terkelsen from Lifestyle Landscapes who designed and built the perfect place for little people to rest using recycled-plastic slats. He also built a bridge made from recycled-plastic Enduroplank™ with a composite fibre sub-structure.

With left over material, Michael got really creative, constructing a mini home for the really little people on the island. Staff, parents and, most importantly, the children are thrilled with the enchanting new additions.

Gabul Way is a much anticipated walkway connecting Nelly and Geoffrey Bays on Magnetic Island in Far North Queensland.

The 710 m elevated walkway made from recycled plastic, complements the island's existing 25 km walking track network and provides spectacular views over the Coral Sea.

Townsville Mayor Cr Jenny Hill said that in addition to its tourist appeal, the walkway also greatly improves public safety, which has been a long running issue on the island.

Bungalow Bay Koala Village is an architecturally designed holiday village on Magnetic Island in Far North Queensland. Village owners and management strive to be eco-friendly and when an old timber deck around the pool needed replacing they were quite excited about the prospect of a new recycled-plastic deck.

Michael Terkelsen from Lifestyled Landscapes, who installed the deck, said ‘the Replas product will be much better around the wet pool environment,’ adding that installation of the Enduroplank™ on a composite fibre sub-structure was straightforward. Michael said the product addressed issues that other products could not and he, ‘would definitely recommend the use of this material to future customers’.

Pittwater and Warringah Councils in NSW have worked together to link new and existing trails to circumnavigate the foreshores of the Narrabeen Lagoon. This multi-use trail project features a new pedestrian/cyclist bridge which has been constructed using durable recycled-plastic Enduroplank™ decking. The decking not only provides a long lasting solution for the bridge, but has also contributed to a reduction in the amount of plastic going to landfill.

We recently revisited a viewing platform at Flat Rock Ballina, NSW, that was constructed from Enduroplank™ decking and composite fibre. Even in this coastal location the platform shows no sign of wear and still looks as good as the day it went in - over five years ago!

Nambucca Shire Council wanted to provide easier access to a viewing platform located up a steep slope at Shelly Beach, Northern NSW. Recycled plastic Enduroplank™ was used to create 30 m of board and chain beach access and 40 m of floating deck. Jacqui Ashby, Environmental Resource Officer at the council said they, ‘wanted a harder wearing product that had a more sustainable tick’. Locals and tourists report it is much easier to walk up the solid path rather than soft sand and as an added bonus they can take a rest on a recycled-plastic bench once they get there. Beach access prevents sand erosion ‘Cheap pine does not stand up against heavy pedestrian traffic over time.’ Jacqui Ashby, Environmental Resource Officer, Nambucca Shire Council.
