The Science Of Seating

The new Science Learning Centre at Xavier College, SA, was designed using sustainable building principles and incorporating energy efficient materials.
The addition of three recycled-plastic Premier settings to the external veranda has created a beautiful outdoor learning area. David Costin, Property Services Manager, says, ‘This area overlooks our horticulture area and provides a pleasant environment for our students’. David says the look and style of the new settings not only complement the new building, but will also educate students about the use of recycled products.

Nelly Bay a haven for Replas

Nelly Bay is Magnetic Island’s main residential bay and passenger arrival point from the mainland. During cyclone Yasi this picturesque bay suffered extensive damage, yet existing Replas settings weathered the storm well. As a result, the decision was made to install even more settings. Leanne McCaffrey, Contracts Adminstrator, JMAC Constructions, said the main reason they chose to stick with recycled plastic is because it is, ‘able to withstand harsh coastal conditions’.

Using your Nut

The Nut at Stanley on the north-west coast of Tasmania is a popular destination for tourists. But visitors to the area were previously greeted with decrepit picnic settings.  The concrete supports were starting to split as the steel reinforcement bars rusted and expanded, and the timber had already been replaced. Circular Head Council realised they needed a solution that could survive this seafront location—recycled plastic emerged as the best long term solution.
The new picnic settings will be much more user friendly and are expected to last for more than forty years. Danny Dwyer, Infrastructure Project Management Officer at the council said that early trails were proving to be a success and that they would be seeking approval to continue with the project this year.

Replas enhances ambience

The team at Western Australia’s Augusta-Margaret River Shire have been gradually replacing the tired timber settings in the beautiful Blackwood River with Replas’ outdoor furniture.

Suitable for students aged 6 to 18

Paralowie School in Adelaide is a combined primary and secondary school, with more than 1200 students. The school recently spent its government grant on Replas seats and table settings for the primary section of the school.

The Parents and Friends of the School Committee is so pleased with the products, they are going to purchase more for the senior school. According to Rosalie Lloyd from the school, ‘everybody loves the bright colours and the fact that the products are made from recycled material. We would recommend them to anybody’.
