It's a sign!

Parks Victoria asked Replas to produce a range of signage to complement the beautiful natural parklands of Westerfolds Park in Templestowe, Victoria. The Plank Signs and Trackmarker Signs are created within the Parks Victoria style guide and will provide a maintenance free and long lasting solution for more than 40 years.

Who let the dogs out?

Logan City Council residents in Queensland that’s who. Ever since the council installed two specialised off-leash dog areas at Underwood Recreational Park in South Rochdale, local dogs think life is a walk in the park.

Two specially designed areas, one for large dogs and one for small dogs, include bridges, sitting platforms, weave poles and jump through hoops. Suitable for residents or professional trainers this equipment is constructed from super-strong recycled plastic and provides a fun way to exercise with your dog.

It’s recycled of course!

Centenary Park Golf Course in Frankston, Victoria, is one of the most popular public courses in Melbourne. Not only offering excellent public access, the golf course is also forging ahead in the use of recycled products. Replas benches, seats, ball washer stands, bins, signs and sand containers are just a few of the products dotted around the course, returning this valuable resource to the community that collected it.

Sorell Council: Pioneering sustainability

Inspired by an article they had seen in a previous edition of Recycled Plastic News, Sam Fenney and Wayne Mason from Sorell Council, in Tasmania,  found a novel use for our large profiles when they decided to incorporate them into a fence they were designing for the newly renovated Pioneer Park.

They wanted a solution that was sustainable, long lasting and low-maintenance, but which also looked good. The council had previously used recycled-plastic bollards, from Replas, to define walkways and garden beds in areas which have a harsh marine environment. As a re

The large profiles were mounted horizontally to achieve the striking ranch-style fence. The park was further complemented by recycled-plastic bollards along paths and flowerbeds with recycled-plastic wheel-stops used in the car parks.sult of this experience Sam and Wayne were confident that recycled plastic was the right choice for them.

'I am very impressed with Replas’ products. It is exciting to see plastic waste benefiting the community and is great to be supporting a company that is diverting waste from landfill while saving trees, energy and other natural resources’, Cr Carmel Torenius, Mayor of Sorell Council.

‘Royal’ approval for Enduroplank™

When the timber decking at the lookout at Royal Park in Tasmania needed replacing, Launceston City Council wanted to find a more sustainable solution. The forward thinking Parks team decided recycled plastic was the answer.

The longevity of Enduroplank™ will ensure that the decking looks as stunning as the views of the beautiful Tamar River for many years to come.

Sitting down for the environment

The school was looking at being environmentally friendly and we liked what we sawMark McKenzie, Principal at LeFevre Peninsula Primary School, SA.

LeFevre Peninsula Primary School, SA, has installed a variety of recycled-plastic seating from Replas. Lucky students now have this beautiful outdoor area to enjoy, knowing they are contributing to a healthier environment.

Partnership takes a leap forward

Once the sand was tipped in we drove the dingo over the end panels to level the sand with no problems, the panels did not move. We have used timber before and in order to bolt it into place and secure it takes a lot longer and a lot more effort to get them level and straight.’ Will Grimes, Contractor.

At Replas, we love working with people who are just as passionate as we are. Will Grimes is a contractor from WA, who is really supporting our efforts and was once again happy to work with recycled plastic when installing an edge around a long-jump pit at Hartfield Park, in the Shire of Kalamunda.

Will said even he was surprised at, ‘how quick it was to install the panels,’ needing only his 11 year-old son to help him! According to Will the best thing is that the panels have given ‘an edge with no sharp points and will not splinter—the best possible outcome’.

‘I was looking for a product that was low maintenance, long-lasting and would withstand the harsh conditions of the tropics. Replas was able to arrange for delivery from one side of Australia to the other. Installation only required spacing and attaching end capping to the planks, a job I was able to undertake myself. What great service.’  Ian Hunter, home handyman, Northern Territory.
