Update On Bollards

Due to the fantastic uptake of our 150 mm. round bollard we are now half way through automating the manufacturing of our 125 mm bollard.

What does this mean to our customers?

Automation allows us to reduce lead times. Energy and material savings in manufacturing also means we can dramatically reduce the price of this bollard without compromising standards. The new design incorporates pre-moulded cement holes which will ensure a stable and durable installation.

But wait there’s more…

If you need a quick and easy solution to allow vehicle or pedestrian access, our new hinged sleeve may be the answer. This clever design retracts in order to allow bollards to lie flat without the need to remove the bollard. Made from galvanised steel the hinged sleeves are highly durable and help create a flexible solution for your boundary.

Break O Day

The Break O Day Child and Family Centre in Tasmania is a newly constructed pre-school learning and parental education facility. In designing the outdoor area, landscape architect Dr Don Thomson, of Landscape impressions, chose to incorporate many recycled-plastic products in order to minimise the impact of his designs on our natural resources. Don said, ‘The range of Replas profiles and products, and their flexibility, provide many opportunities to design interesting and functional elements in many landscape applications’. Adding that, ‘The longevity and robustness of Replas products is also a key consideration, minimising maintenance costs over time’.

Introducing—Replas Sand Coating

There’s no doubt Enduroplank™ decking and Stair Treads are tough performers, suitable for a variety of situations and conditions. However, at Replas we are never content to rest on our laurels and are always seeking to improve the design and performance of our products. With the introduction of our newly designed Sand Coat formula we can now greatly increase the slip resistance of structures made from these products. The coating can be easily applied to new or existing installations and will significantly improve safety for users. Visit our website to see how Advanced Technology Testing and Research rated this amazing new product.

Salonika Beach

Mackay Regional Council was looking for a product to build a staircase at Salonika Beach that required minimum maintenance and which could also withstand hostile coastal conditions. They chose recycled-plastic Stair Treads to create an instant and long lasting staircase. The Stair Treads not only provided the perfect solution, but were also simple to install. Tony Ahern, Techinical Officer Assets, Mackay Regional Council, said, ‘Initially the staff, who have not installed anything like this, were a bit daunted, but did a very good job without any plans.’

Barton Gully

Holdfast Bay Council, in SA, enlisted Replas to design, certify, supply, and install a composite fibre and recycled plastic staircase and boardwalk, at Barton Gully.

The council were excited to be using a ground breaking product with a virtually maintenance-free future. The structure is expected to last in excess 40 years, which is far more than any other conventional building material. Holdfast Bay Council is committed to sustainability, but also has very strict conformity guidelines. Replas is proud to supply them with environmentally-friendly products that suit their requirements.

Rotary Club meeting a huge success

Over 30 Rotarians visited the Replas Environmental Centre on Monday 23 April. Russell Smith, President of Dandenong Rotary said, ‘I would like to thank you for your presentation last night of your excellent products, and the most interesting process you employ to recycle so much of our waste plastic. Everyone enjoyed the night and I am sure will spread the message of Replas far and wide! May your business prosper!’

Replas is always happy to host Rotary groups at our centre or we can visit you at your club. Call 1800 REPLAS for more information.

Our planet is suffering, but Hospitals may have the cure

Our partner the RED Group collects approximately 1.5 tonnes of sterilization wrap and 2.5 tonnes of mixed plastics from 12 Victorian hospitals each week. It is then delivered to us to create products which can be returned to hospitals and the wider community.

We can reprocess a range of clean non-infectious material including sterilisation wrap, bowl sets, dialysis bottles, soft plastic packaging and head and shoe covers. Plastic suppliers to hospitals such as Multigate and Able Plastics are also taking responsibility for the products they create by supporting both RED and Replas. Proving that together we can close the loop, and prevent as much plastic as possible from going to landfill.

Lilydale Lake

Lilydale Lake, in Victoria, now features an excellent outdoor exercise facility in this scenic location. Rod Woolley, Play Space and Assets Supervisor, Yarra Ranges Council, said the council has a commitment to the environment and this was a major factor in choosing to install Fitness Trails® stations at six different locations throughout the park and surrounding areas.

According to Rod they have been, ‘surprised by the amount of use that the facility has got, ‘ listing local footy and fitness groups that make regular use of the equipment as well as general passers-by’.
